WordPress.com/Automattic (the business) recently announced they were deplatforming a conservative blog called The Treehouse.

As far as I can tell the only offence or violation of WordPress ToS is WordPress.com/Automatic just doesn’t like conservative voices.

I find nothing more disturbing than decisions to deplatform by large media corporations for apparent disagreement with political leanings. We have too much censorship in our society today as it is. When the internet biggies announced the deplatforming of Alex Jones I wasn’t particularly upset because, well, I think he’s a nut. But others said that if they can deplatform Alex Jones they can deplatform anyone. Those words were prophetic. There are fewer and fewer places in society that will tolerate conservatives. And if you think you are safe, you’re wrong. You’re on the list. Your turn to be deplatformed will be coming.

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me. 

I will leave this blog up as long as they let me but I will no longer post here except if I find a new place to post. I will let you know if that happens.

    When you say WordPress, I assume you mean the free wordpress.COM. Did you know you can host your own WordPress site (with your own paid ISP) with source code from wordpress.ORG? There are numerous free templates to make your site look however you wish – just like on wordpress.com. It is not difficult to do. Check out wordpress.org.

    As an example, my site is http://camellarry.com. It is responsive, meaning that it will adjust to the size of your browser. Notice that I have my own domain name. No one should be able to shut me down but if they do, it is just a hobby site anyway. They can kiss me where I sit.

    Hi,
    This info on the CTH really shocked me.

    A few years ago I had turned in info on a vile Antisemitic blog and got a response from WP creator Matt explaining he believed in freedom of speech.

    When I heard about some being kicked off the only one I found was supposedly a crackpot. So I didn’t think too much about it. But was a little leery considering how much closer WP has been getting to Google of late.
    Now I know it’s only a matter of time when we’ll be kicked off.
    Please let me know where you end up.

      Treehouse has done what must be done if you are conservative. They have their own platform completely independent at https://wordpress.com/comment/tumbleweedstumbling.wordpress.com/925?action=approve

      I am also spending some time on Gab. There are vile antiSemites there that nauseate me but they are often challenged and I personally would prefer to do my own blocking of scum rather than have government decide.
